Edgar Navarro
from Miami Life Center
Miami Beach, USA
About Joseph Armstrong
Joseph Armstrong is a level 2 teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, having received authorization from Paramamguru Sharath Jois in 2019. He teaches yoga with feet planted firmly in tradition and gaze turned towards the future. His search for a more present and peaceful life first led him to the practice in 2008. A few years later he was in India, studying intensively.
After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, Joseph began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. He understood quickly that the lineage was calling to him to deepen his practice. He underwent a 2 year apprenticeship program at the world renowned Miami Life Center, continuing his education under his teachers Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor. In 2016 he completed 2 months of study in Mysore under Sharath Jois. Joseph has been teaching daily Mysore style since 2018, as well as giving workshops in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Joseph teaches yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when he finally devoted himself to his passion, he became an asset to himself and others. He hopes his practice allows him to be ever more loving and to exist gently.

Yoga Workshop “Yoga and The Relaxation Response”
Learn to hack your nervous system using a synthesis of ancient yogic techniques paired with modern scientific know-how. The Vagus Nerve regulates and relaxes the major systems of the body. It is possible to tap into this power to experience increased connection to innate flow states and the relaxation response. This can result in increased presence, as well as psychological and physical well being.
You will learn how to apply guided imagery, meditation, vocal techniques, and breathwork. You will leave with a working knowledge of the parasympathetic nervous system and how to use it to modify the state of the mind and body.
Yoga Workshop “Handstand Drills and Skills”
Get off your feet and on your hands in this fun and challenging all levels workshop that will play with not just handstands, but a variety of hand and arm balances. Well explore the relationship between strength and leverage in getting upside down as we break each posture into its core components.
You'll leave this workshop with a clear idea of where you need to get stronger and where you need to let go.

Ayurveda Workshop “Ayurvedic Anatomy”
In this class, we will dive into Ayurveda, “the wisdom of life” by discussing the doshas and energies that display in the body and mind. We will explore the directions of prana, chakras, nadi’s, and the nine rasa’s. This will leave you with an understanding of the non physical side of anatomy and how it can display physically in the body.
Ayurveda Workshop “Death: The Souls Journey”
What happens before you die? Where do you go when you die? What happens after you die? The only thing certain is that everything living is eventually going to die. Join Carrie on an exploration of death, karma, and reincarnation according to Vedic philosophy.
